BLOSSOM, Texas—A 15-year-old male has been arrested in connection with a business burglary and vehicle thefts that occurred early Monday morning.
Lamar County Sheriff’s Deputies and Reno Police Department officers responded to a business alarm in Blossom on August 25. Upon arrival, they found the business's front glass and a display case had been shattered, but the suspect had already fled. Deputies contacted detectives to process the scene and collect evidence. The Sheriff's Office also received multiple reports of overnight vehicle burglaries.
Later in the day, detectives developed leads and identified a suspect. With assistance from the Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force, the Paris Police Department, and the Precinct 2 Constable’s Office, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Blossom.
At the home, authorities recovered stolen items from the business burglary, as well as a stolen firearm believed to have been taken from one of the motor vehicle burglaries. The 15-year-old suspect was arrested and is now in juvenile detention.
The investigation into the vehicle burglaries is ongoing. The Sheriff’s Office commended all the law enforcement agencies involved for their quick resolution of the case.
