MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas — Over the weekend of August 16–17, 2025, the Mount Pleasant Police Department, the Titus County Sheriff’s Office, and the Camp County Sheriff’s Office opened investigations into a series of vehicle burglaries that occurred in the early morning hours of August 15.
Authorities say the burglaries began within Mount Pleasant city limits in the Country Club area before moving into the Walker Creek Subdivision in Camp County. The suspects then returned to Titus County, where multiple vehicles were broken into in the East Lake Tankersly area.
The crimes continued until a homeowner discovered the activity and fired a warning shot. Investigators believe one suspect ran to an awaiting vehicle while others returned fire toward the residence before fleeing the area.
During the spree, burglars stole a significant amount of cash and at least two handguns from unlocked vehicles in both the Country Club and East Lake Tankersly areas.
Following a joint investigation, 25-year-old Zadarrius Tremaine Gamble was identified as a prime suspect. He was arrested and charged with:
-
One count of Second-Degree Felony Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity
-
Two counts of Third-Degree Felony Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity
-
One count of Third-Degree Felony Deadly Conduct
-
Two counts of State Jail Felony Theft of a Firearm
-
Three counts of Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, Class A Misdemeanor
Officials say additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
