Man Arrested After High-Speed Chase in Angelina County

HUDSON, Texas—An 18-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday following a vehicle chase in Hudson that ended when his car hit a telephone pole.

According to the Angelina County Sheriff's Office, a deputy on patrol in Hudson attempted to stop a white Cadillac for traveling 71 mph in a 55 mph zone on Highway 94. The driver, later identified as Caleb Perez, sped away, continuing the pursuit onto FM 1194 South at speeds over 85 mph.

The chase ended when Perez attempted to turn onto Parks Circle, ran off the road, and struck a telephone pole. Deputies apprehended him at the scene.

Perez was found to have an active felony warrant for Aggravated Robbery, and deputies also recovered marijuana from the vehicle. He was booked into the Angelina County jail on charges related to the incident and the outstanding warrant.
