MARSHALL, Texas — A juvenile suspect was arrested Thursday, August 14, in connection with an armed robbery in Marshall, leading to the recovery of stolen property tied to recent burglaries, the Marshall Police Department (MPD) announced.
Shortly after 10 a.m., an MPD officer encountered a driver stopped in the 1500 block of W. Grand Avenue who reported being robbed at gunpoint moments earlier in a store parking lot. The victim told officers she had arranged to sell a pair of shoes through Facebook Marketplace and provided a photo of the suspect.
Officers quickly began searching the area, during which 25-year-old Anthony Culberson of Marshall was arrested for Evading Detention in an unrelated case. Police later identified the robbery suspect’s residence at a nearby apartment complex, where they located the stolen shoes, the suspected firearm, and multiple items linked to recent car burglaries.
The juvenile suspect was taken to the Willoughby Detention Center. Due to the suspect’s age, no further identifying information has been released. The investigation remains ongoing and additional charges are possible.
MPD credited the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office with assisting in the case.
