Three Adults and One Juvenile Arrested in Camp County Organized Crime Bust

Camp County Sheriff’s Office arrested Shayan Nykole Gibbons, 20, of Longview; Haven Lane Planas, 20, of Tenaha; and Kason Lane Johnson, 19, of White Oak on Thursday, August 7, charging each with two counts of engaging in organized criminal activity. A juvenile was also detained and taken to the Gregg County Juvenile Detention Center.

Sheriff John Cortelyou said investigators Randy Huggins and Deputy Brandon Morris were monitoring northeastern Camp County following multiple vehicle burglaries the previous night.

While patrolling County Road 4162, Investigator Huggins found a car with its lights off and detained Gibbons and Planas inside, with assistance from Pittsburg Police Officer Jessica Bearden. Two males fled on foot as Huggins approached the vehicle, running across an off-duty DPS trooper’s yard. Deputy Morris and Officer Anibal Perez apprehended Johnson and the juvenile.

A second vehicle linked to the suspects was located and searched under a warrant, recovering several stolen items. Authorities are coordinating with neighboring agencies to determine if the suspects are connected to other motor vehicle burglaries.

Bonds were set at $7,500 per count for each adult. Gibbons also faces an additional $1,500 bond on a marijuana possession charge.
