HENDERSON COUNTY, TX – Dustyn Thomas Loyd has been convicted and sentenced to 15 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for four counts of Possession of Child Pornography. The sentence was handed down last week by 3rd District Court Judge Mark Calhoon.
District Attorney Jenny Palmer and Assistant District Attorney Jeff Herrington represented the State in the prosecution.
The case was investigated by the Henderson County Sheriff's Office's Crimes Against Children Task Force. The task force executed a search warrant on Loyd's home after receiving a cyber tip from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
“The Crimes Against Children Task Force works tirelessly to protect the most vulnerable members of our community,” said District Attorney Jenny Palmer. “Their dedication and thorough investigations are critical in bringing offenders like Loyd to justice and ensuring the safety of our children.”
As a result of his conviction, Loyd will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
