MESQUITE, TX – A 15-year-old male has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred Thursday night, July 24, 2025, in the 2100 block of Pecan Creek Drive.
Mesquite Police Department officers responded to the shooting call around 9:30 p.m. and located a 15-year-old male with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Nearby, officers discovered a second victim, a 16-year-old male, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Following an investigation, detectives identified a 15-year-old male suspect. On Saturday morning, July 26, 2025, at approximately 10:05 a.m., the juvenile suspect was taken into custody by Mesquite Police investigators.
The case remains under active investigation. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Mesquite Police Department.
