Wanted Fugitive Captured After Foot Chase in Linden

LINDEN, TX — A routine traffic stop on the morning of July 25, 2025, led to the arrest of a wanted fugitive after a foot pursuit in Linden.

Around 8:30 AM, a Linden Police Department patrol unit attempted to stop a silver Hyundai Elantra for speeding—66 MPH in a 55 MPH zone—on U.S. Highway 59 within city limits. The driver failed to immediately yield and continued southbound before pulling over at the Linden Fuel Center.

Upon contact, officers noted a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver, who lacked identification, admitted to not having a driver’s license and was later determined to be on federal felony probation for burglary out of Bowie County. The passenger initially provided false information.

With the assistance of local and state law enforcement, the passenger was positively identified as Jaquavion Williams, a fugitive wanted on multiple active felony warrants out of Bowie County.

As officers attempted to detain Williams, he fled on foot across U.S. Highway 59 and into a nearby field. After a short pursuit, he was apprehended in the backyard of a residence on Dogwood Street.

Williams was booked into the Cass County Jail on the following charges:

  • Fail to Identify Fugitive – Intentionally Give False Information

  • Evading Arrest or Detention

  • Multiple Active Felony Warrants (Bowie County)

The investigation remains ongoing.
