MOUNT PLEASANT, TX – On July 12, Mount Pleasant Police officers responded to a shoplifting call at Walgreens. Officers located and stopped three individuals several blocks away as they attempted to flee the area on foot.
During the stop, officers discovered a large quantity of stolen beauty care products in the suspects’ possession. The investigation revealed that the suspects—identified as Aaniya Thompson, 20, Omarion Ricks, 19, and Destiny Cummings, 20—had stolen over $1,500 worth of merchandise from the Mount Pleasant Walgreens.
All three were arrested and charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity and Theft.
Further investigation by detectives uncovered similar thefts committed by the same group in Commerce, Greenville, and Sulphur Springs. In total, more than $5,000 worth of stolen product was recovered across six different stores in four cities. Additional charges are expected from other jurisdictions.
