Sherman Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges Following CyberTip

SHERMAN, TX – Codyie Lamont Dunn, 28, of Sherman, has been arrested and faces multiple charges, including possession of child pornography, after an investigation initiated by a CyberTip from the Dallas Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

On July 14, 2025, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office received the escalated CyberTip, which identified Dunn as a person of interest in the possession of child pornography. Following this, investigators obtained a search warrant for Dunn’s residence, an apartment in the 3300 block of North FM 1417 in Sherman.

This morning, members of the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and Patrol Division served the search warrant. Due to evidence gathered during the investigation and during today's operation, Dunn was arrested. In addition to child pornography charges, he also faces a charge of tampering with evidence.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be forthcoming.

Sheriff Tony Bennie has repeatedly emphasized the importance of collaboration in protecting children from exploitation. The Sheriff's Office reaffirmed its commitment to working alongside local, regional, and federal partners to investigate these crimes and hold offenders accountable.
