On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, Harrison County Deputies responded to a disturbance on Pinewood Road involving a man reportedly breaking windows and threatening residents with a knife.
Deputies arrived to find 57-year-old Kermit George Crews of Longview sitting in the middle of the street. He was quickly detained without incident.
According to the caller, Crews arrived unprovoked at the residence and began stabbing the windows with a knife, causing them to shatter. Alarmed by the noise, the caller and his son stepped outside, at which point Crews allegedly began threatening them with the weapon.
Crews was arrested and transported to the Harrison County Jail. He is charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault of a Family Member with a Deadly Weapon and Criminal Mischief valued between $750 and $2,500. His total bond was set at $152,000.
