Three Arrested, Drugs and Firearms Seized During Fugitive Investigation in East Texas

On the evening of June 24, 2025, deputies with the Sabine County Sheriff's Office arrested three individuals and seized methamphetamine, marijuana, firearms, and drug paraphernalia while conducting a fugitive investigation in the 300 block of Mott Road in Brookeland.

Upon approaching the residence, deputies observed a white female inside actively smoking what appeared to be methamphetamine through a glass pipe. The residence was secured, and three individuals—two white females and one white male—were detained.

A search warrant was obtained and executed. During the search, deputies recovered approximately 22 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, digital scales, firearms, and packaging materials consistent with narcotics distribution.

The following individuals were arrested:

  • James Phillip Ebarb, 51, of Brookeland, was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Possession of Marijuana.

  • Teresa Ann White, 46, of Jasper, was charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence and Possession of a Controlled Substance, after allegedly attempting to conceal methamphetamine internally while hiding in the bathroom.

  • Janet Denise Letney, 54, of Brookeland, was charged with Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG1 in an amount greater than 4 grams but less than 200 grams.

All three individuals were transported to the Sabine County Jail.
