A suspect has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon following a shooting in Rowlett on Monday, June 30, 2025.
At approximately 8:40 PM, Rowlett Police officers responded to a shooting in the 4000 block of Coyle Street. Upon arrival, they located a male victim who reported being shot by an unknown suspect after a verbal altercation. The suspect had fled the scene on foot.
The victim was able to provide officers with details of the incident and a suspect description before being transported to a local hospital. He underwent surgery for his injuries and is currently in stable condition.
Officers established a perimeter and received assistance from the Garland Police Department K9 unit, the Mesquite Police Department K9 unit, and the DART Police Department. During the coordinated search, the Mesquite Police Department K9 unit located the suspect near the 4100 block of Main Street.
The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Cornelius Jacques Robinson, was taken into custody without incident. Two firearms, including the weapon used in the shooting, were recovered. Robinson has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and his bond has been set at $50,000.
The Rowlett Police Department expressed appreciation for the multi-agency collaboration, crediting the quick response and assistance from the Garland, Mesquite, and DART Police Departments for the swift resolution of the incident.
