Howe High School Head Football Coach Arrested in Undercover Child Predator Sting

Andrew Harvey

Andrew Harvey, the athletic director and head football coach at Howe High School, has been arrested following an undercover operation conducted by the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office Human Trafficking/Internet Crimes Against Children unit.

The Howe Independent School District (ISD) informed families via letter that they learned of Harvey's arrest on June 24th, though the arrest itself occurred the day prior, June 23rd. Harvey, 35, is facing serious charges including attempting to entice a minor to commit sexual acts online, attempting to procure a person under 18 for prostitution, and selling or showing harmful material to a minor.

The arrest was the result of an undercover sting operation where a Tarrant County Sheriff’s officer, posing as a minor online, engaged in conversations with Harvey. On June 23rd, Harvey allegedly arranged to meet the supposed minor at a public location, where sheriff's deputies intervened and arrested him.

Harvey has been employed by Howe ISD since June 2022 and had passed a background check prior to his hiring, according to the district. He has been immediately placed on administrative leave and is prohibited from being on school property or contacting students or staff while the investigation is ongoing.
