A suspect in the burglary of a Roganville Church was swiftly apprehended today in Angelina County. At approximately 12:45 p.m., deputies with the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office stopped and took Gavyn Deaton into custody without incident.
Deaton will face felony burglary charges for his alleged involvement in the Roganville Church break-in, as well as additional burglary charges in Angelina County.
"That didn’t take long!!" stated Jasper County Sheriff, who also thanked Sheriff Tom Selman and the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office for their "swift action and placing this individual in custody."
Authorities are currently working out extradition details to bring Deaton back to Jasper County.
