Henderson Man Arrested After Traffic Stop Uncovers Multiple Drugs, Including LSD and Meth

A traffic stop on June 2, 2025, on US Highway 79 South in Henderson led to the arrest of Wael Laartis, 27, of Henderson, after deputies discovered a significant quantity of various controlled substances in his possession.

Initiated by Patrol Shift D, the stop resulted in the seizure of suspected LSD, methamphetamine, MDMA (ecstasy), and alprazolam (Xanax). During the investigation, Laartis was found to be in possession of approximately 130 dosage units of suspected LSD, around 3.9 grams of suspected methamphetamine, approximately 5.5 grams of suspected MDMA, and about 17.4 grams of suspected alprazolam.

Laartis was arrested at the scene and charged with multiple criminal offenses: Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1A (LSD), Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1 (Methamphetamine), Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 2 (MDMA), and Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 3 (Alprazolam).

He is currently confined in the Rusk County Jail, with bonds totaling $122,000 set by Justice of the Peace Pct. #5 Jana Enloe.
