A traffic stop on June 14, 2025, led to the arrest of Lawrence Deeb, 57, of Tatum, after Rusk County authorities discovered suspected methamphetamine, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia in his possession. Deeb also had outstanding warrants from Upshur County and a parole violation warrant from Austin.
The stop was initiated by Patrol Shift B on FM 782 Tatum. During the investigation, Deeb was found to be in possession of approximately 8.1 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 0.4 grams of suspected cocaine, along with numerous items of suspected drug paraphernalia.
Deeb was arrested at the scene and charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Substance in Penalty Group 1 (methamphetamine) and Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1 (cocaine). He is currently confined in the Rusk County Jail on bonds totaling $210,000, set by Justice of the Peace Pct. #5 Jana Enloe.
