A routine traffic stop in the early hours of Wednesday morning led to the arrest of Alex Williams, 46, after over 400 grams of methamphetamine were allegedly thrown from his vehicle. The incident, which occurred a little before 2 a.m. in the 4700-block of South Highway 75, is being highlighted as a success in police work and inter-departmental teamwork.
As a Denison Police officer approached the stopped vehicle, an object was reportedly tossed out the passenger side window. This object was later identified as a bag containing more than 400 grams of methamphetamine.
Alex Williams was subsequently arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1/1-B (over 400 grams) and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
The Denison Police Department recognized both its patrol division and the collaborative efforts with the Denison Texas Police Department for their role in the arrest.
