Man Indicted in Lamar County on Multiple Child Sex Crime Charges After Extensive Investigation

Michael Clark Sikes

Michael Clark Sikes, a 38-year-old male, is being held in the Lamar County Jail on bonds totaling $335,000, following a Grand Jury indictment for numerous felony charges including Sexual Performance by a Child, Possession of Child Pornography, and Child Grooming. The indictment is the culmination of a Crimes Against Children investigation initiated by the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office Special Crimes Detectives in January 2025.

The investigation, which spanned several months, involved detectives serving search warrants and seizing multiple devices. Digital forensics on these devices were completed in March 2025, with detectives then meticulously reviewing the data.

In April 2025, detectives secured initial arrest warrants for Sikes, including three felony warrants for Possession of Child Pornography, one felony warrant for Sexual Performance by a Child <14, and one felony warrant for Child Grooming.

Further review of the device data was completed in May 2025. In June 2025, a Grand Jury indicted Sikes on the following charges:

  • Sexual Performance by a Child <14 Produce/Direct/Promote
  • Possession of Child Pornography <100
  • Child Grooming
  • Indecency with a Child by Contact
  • Two counts of Indecency with a Child by Exposure

The Lamar County Sheriff's Office Crimes Against Children detectives worked on this case.
