Pound of Meth Seized, Four Arrested in Early Morning Drug Bust in Polk County

Livingston Police executed a coordinated drug bust early Thursday morning, resulting in multiple arrests and the seizure of nearly a pound of methamphetamine.

Around 1:00 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a suspect vehicle on Highway 190 West. K9 Bear alerted to the presence of narcotics, and a search of the vehicle uncovered several baggies of methamphetamine concealed in a hidden backseat compartment. The driver, identified as 61-year-old John Way, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance. A female passenger was taken into custody on outstanding theft-related warrants.

At approximately 2:00 a.m., officers executed a search warrant at Way’s residence on Castlewood Road. Patrol and Criminal Investigations Division (CID) units detained two male occupants during the search. Officers discovered additional narcotics, including methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm.

The two men, identified as Kyle Way (29) and William Stewart (50), were arrested and charged with Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance. All three males arrested are convicted felons with extensive criminal records and were transported to the Polk County Jail.

The investigation remains active, and officials say additional arrests or charges may follow.
