A Trinity County deputy was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning, June 3, while on duty.
The crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. near the intersection of State Highway 94 and Scrub Creek Road. Initial reports indicated the deputy suffered minor injuries, but his condition has since been updated to serious.
Authorities believe the crash was likely caused by driver fatigue. No criminal offense is suspected in connection with the incident.
The deputy was transported to a hospital for treatment. His name has not been released.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is leading the investigation into the crash.
