The Paris Police Department and Lamar County Sheriff’s Office apprehended two suspects and recovered stolen vehicles and firearms following a series of vehicle burglaries and a brief pursuit on Saturday, May 31.
The incident began after officers responded to multiple reports of vehicle burglaries in Paris. During the investigation, a stolen vehicle believed to be connected to the burglaries was reported. Detectives from the Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force were notified and contacted the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office for assistance.
A deputy located the stolen vehicle on North Main Street and attempted a traffic stop. The suspects fled, leading to a short pursuit involving deputies and Paris PD officers. The vehicle was soon stopped, and multiple suspects attempted to flee on foot. One suspect was apprehended without injury by a Lamar County deputy and a Paris PD officer.
The Lamar County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and drone team assisted with the follow-up investigation. Three suspects were identified. A juvenile suspect was booked and released to a guardian. Seventeen-year-old Cadan Black was arrested and charged with:

Two stolen vehicles were recovered along with two firearms, one of which was confirmed to be stolen.
