On May 30, 2025, seven illegal gambling operations across Marshall and Harrison County were shut down in a coordinated law enforcement effort led by the Joint Harrison County Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force. The crackdown followed an extensive investigation into businesses allegedly operating illegal gambling machines.
The operation was carried out with support from the Marshall Police Department Patrol and Criminal Investigations Division, Harrison County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and Criminal Investigations Divisions, the Harrison County Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Harrison County District Attorney’s Office. Seven search warrants, signed by 71st District Judge Brad Morin, were executed at the following locations:
-
Poplar Store – 1001 Poplar St., Marshall
-
Pony Express Truck Stop – 304 I-20 East, Marshall
-
Grab & Go – 4204 U.S. Highway 59, Marshall
-
Wildcat Grocery – 13863 F.M. 450, Harleton
-
Valero – 6135 U.S. Highway 80, Longview
-
Wanda's – 15229 F.M. 968, Longview
-
Skill Games – 5206 F.M. 968, Longview
During the searches, authorities seized approximately 70 illegal gambling machines and recovered methamphetamine at several of the locations. Multiple individuals were arrested, and the Harrison County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing pending charges.
In a related investigation last week, the Marshall Police Department and the Task Force executed a search warrant at the Fina gas station at 1601 W. Grand Ave. in Marshall, following a citizen tip. That search uncovered illegal THC products and 10 unlawful gambling machines.
Law enforcement agencies continue to emphasize that illegal gaming establishments will not be tolerated in Harrison County, and investigations remain ongoing.
