A suspect driving a vehicle reported stolen out of Lewisville was apprehended Tuesday evening after leading police on a foot chase through a wooded area near the First Baptist Church in Forney.
Around 8:00 p.m. on May 27, 2025, Forney Police officers located the stolen vehicle parked near Holly Leaf and Main Street. Upon spotting a patrol unit, the male suspect moved the vehicle to the back of the church parking lot, exited, and fled on foot into nearby woods.
Kaufman County deputies quickly deployed a drone, which located the suspect in the heavily wooded area. Officers formed a perimeter while Terrell Police Department’s K9 unit, including K9 Blaze, initiated a track.
The suspect was located shortly afterward and sustained minor injuries from a dog bite. He was treated at the scene and taken into custody without further incident.
