A suspect was shot by police late Tuesday night, May 27, 2025, after allegedly firing multiple rounds at a Longview Police Department patrol vehicle.
At approximately 11:49 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of McCann Road following reports of an armed individual and gunfire. As officers approached the scene, they encountered a suspect walking in the 2800 block of McCann Road.
According to police, when the first officer attempted to make contact, the suspect opened fire, striking the patrol vehicle multiple times. A second responding officer then discharged their firearm, hitting the suspect.
Officers immediately began life-saving measures, and the Longview Fire Department transported the suspect to a local hospital. The injuries are currently believed to be non-life-threatening.
