Three people, including two children, were killed Saturday afternoon in a three-vehicle head-on collision on FM 3133 west of Jim Cannon Road, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Authorities say the crash occurred when one vehicle attempted to pass in a no-passing zone, triggering the fatal collision.
The victims were identified as 41-year-old Tommy Moorehead III of Leonard, Texas, and two children, ages four and six. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver identified as 63-year-old Rocky Patterson of Rowlett was arrested and charged with three counts of manslaughter. Patterson was initially taken to Baylor Scott & White in McKinney with serious injuries before being booked into the Grayson County Jail. He remains in custody on $3 million bond.
The crash remains under investigation by Texas DPS. A GoFundMe was created to support the affected family.
