The Texarkana Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on the evening of Sunday, May 18, 2025, which resulted in two individuals being wounded at separate locations.
At approximately 8:50 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire at Village Park South Apartments, located at 2225 East Street. Multiple callers indicated shots had been fired and a potential victim was near the back of the complex. Simultaneously, authorities received reports of a possible shooting victim at the EZ Mart convenience store at 1205 East Street, prompting an investigation into whether the two incidents were connected.
Upon arrival at Village Park South Apartments, Miller County Sheriff Deputies were already assisting a wounded individual identified as 19-year-old Randy Page, a white male, who had sustained a gunshot wound. Officers then located a second gunshot victim, 20-year-old Artaja Mitchell, a black female, at the EZ Mart. A third individual, 20-year-old Scirs Purifory, a black male, was also present at the EZ Mart and was arrested on charges unrelated to the shooting incident.
Both Randy Page and Artaja Mitchell were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions have not been released at this time.
