A significant law enforcement presence was reported Sunday in the vicinity of FM 460 and FM 740 in Kaufman County as Forney Police assisted the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) in the search for a suspect who fled on foot.
The suspect is described as a black male wearing black clothing and handcuffs. Initial reports indicated he was last seen heading towards the Skyline Estates area. Authorities urged residents in the vicinity to remain vigilant and immediately report any sightings or information to 911.
An additional suspect was also being sought in the Trinity Crossing area, although no description was available for that individual.
In a later update Sunday night, DPS announced a temporary halt to the active search operation. The suspect remains at large, and the community is advised to continue exercising caution and report any suspicious activity they observe.
DPS stated that the investigation is ongoing and that further updates will be provided as they become available. Authorities expressed their gratitude to the community for their patience and cooperation during the search efforts.
