UPDATE: Wylie Police have identified and arrested 18-year-old Wylie resident, Joseph Calderon Jr for Aggravated Robbery. The suspect was identified following the investigation of the Aggravated Robbery reported at Tobacco Town that occurred on the evening of May 16th. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Calderon on May 17th, 2025. Wylie Police Officers were able to locate Calderon in the early morning hours on May 19th. He was taken into custody without incident, and transported to the Wylie Jail. His bond was set at $500,000.00.

A robbery suspect remains at large after an armed holdup at Tobacco Town on Wednesday evening.
At approximately 7:50 p.m. on May 15, Wylie Police responded to a report of a robbery in progress at 620 S. State Highway 78. The caller told police that an unknown male entered the store, pointed a handgun at him, and demanded money.
Before officers arrived, the suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction. Despite assistance from the Allen Police Department’s K9 unit and a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter, the suspect was not located.
Investigators say the suspect stole an undisclosed amount of cash along with various tobacco products. He is described as a Hispanic or light-skinned Black male, wearing black pants, a light-colored shirt, and carrying a teal-colored backpack.
The Wylie Police Department is asking anyone who may have seen a person matching this description or has surveillance footage from the neighborhood east of Tobacco Town to contact the Criminal Investigative Division at 972-429-8020.
The investigation remains ongoing.
