Royse City Police Report 39% Drop in Crashes During First Month of IH30 TACT Program

The Royse City Police Department has released data from the first month of its IH30 TACT (Ticketing Aggressive Cars/Trucks) enforcement initiative, showing a significant reduction in traffic crashes and injuries in construction zones along Interstate 30.

The TACT program, launched in April 2025, aims to enhance safety through increased officer presence and targeted traffic enforcement in work zones.

Key results from the first month include:

  • 143 hours of dedicated traffic enforcement

  • 300 citations issued

  • 32 non-injury crashes, down 30% from 46 in March

  • 5 injuries reported, a 66% decrease from 15 in March

  • 37 total crashes, down 39% from 61 in March

The department emphasized the importance of continued public cooperation to maintain the downward trend in accidents. Authorities urge drivers to follow traffic laws, maintain safe distances, use the left lane for passing only, and report aggressive or unsafe driving behavior.

The Royse City Police Department will continue the TACT initiative as construction along IH30 progresses.
