Nacogdoches police have identified a brake malfunction as a contributing factor in a semi-truck’s collision with a Ruby’s Mexican Restaurant food truck.
According to Nacogdoches Police Sergeant Joesph Pitts, the semi-truck was parked in a lot on the 2500 block of South Street when it experienced a “brake issue.” This caused the truck to roll across the road and collide with the parked food truck and trailer.
Three restaurant employees and one customer sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. All four individuals were later released.
Ruby’s Mexican Restaurant, which is based in Tyler, operates a food truck that travels to various East Texas cities, including Nacogdoches. The restaurant reported on Facebook that while the food truck was a total loss, they intend to return to Nacogdoches with a new truck in the future after they recover from this incident.
