A major investigation in Delta County has resulted in the arrest of 72-year-old Perry Harvey William Jr., of Ben Franklin. William was initially taken into custody on an outstanding warrant during a traffic stop where he was also found to be in possession of methamphetamines and cash.
Subsequently, a search warrant was executed at his residence with the assistance of the Hopkins County SWAT and Narcotics Teams, the Hunt County Narcotics team, and the Delta County K-9 Unit. During the search, authorities recovered additional drugs, firearms, and five cut catalytic converters.
Mr. William faces multiple charges, including:
- One 1st degree felony count of Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance (over 4 grams)
- Two 2nd degree felony counts of Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance (over 1 gram under 4 grams)
- One 3rd degree felony count of Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance (under 1 gram)
- One State Jail Felony count of Possession of a Controlled Substance (under 1 gram)
- State Jail Felony Unauthorized Possession of Catalytic Converters
- Misdemeanor A charge of Possession of Marijuana (over 4 oz but less than 5 lbs)
Mr. William is currently being held at the Delta County jail on a total bond of $450,000 pending trial. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
