On April 16, 2025, at approximately 10:52 PM, Henderson County K9 Deputy Edwin Rodriguez, along with Narcotics Investigator Jonathan Barrios and Jonathan Daille, conducted a traffic stop on a 2010 Harley Davidson Motorcycle in the 8200 Block of US Highway 175 West.
During the attempted stop, Deputy Rodriguez witnessed the driver, Joseph Duane Whitworth Sr., throw a sock into a nearby grass ditch. Investigators subsequently searched the area and located the sock, which contained a large gallon-sized ziploc bag filled with a significant amount of suspected methamphetamine, as well as clear plastic baggies commonly used for packaging narcotics for sale.
Joseph Duane Whitworth Sr. was arrested and transported to the Henderson County Jail. He faces charges of Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence.
Whitworth Sr. is currently awaiting arraignment.
