Gladewater Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on W. Gay Avenue late Tuesday night, April 1, 2025.
At approximately 10:50 PM, officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 200 block of W. Gay Avenue. Upon arrival, officers spoke with residents who reported hearing gunshots and discovering damage to their property. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
A search of the area yielded multiple shell casings on the walkway near the intersection of W. Gay Avenue and Canfield Street. Officers also found apparent bullet holes in a fence adjacent to the walkway.
A neighborhood canvass was conducted, and officers gathered information from area residents. Preliminary findings suggest the shooting is connected to an earlier disturbance involving a vehicle matching the description provided by witnesses.
