Commerce Chamber of Commerce Announces Retirement of Executive Director Paul Voss

Paul Voss

The Commerce Chamber of Commerce has announced the retirement of Paul Voss, the Executive Director who has served the community for over a decade. Voss, known for his leadership and role as the “Director of Fun,” has been instrumental in shaping the Chamber’s growth and success over the past 11 years.

Voss’ retirement comes after a serious vehicle accident earlier in the year, during which he sustained a broken back and required extensive surgery. While Voss is in recovery and undergoing physical therapy, he remains committed to his health and family, a decision that led to his choice to retire. Despite the challenges, Voss’ recovery is progressing, and he continues to bring his characteristic humor to his family, particularly keeping his wife, Susan, on her toes.

The Chamber of Commerce emphasized that Voss’ departure marks the end of an era, but his impact on the organization and the community will remain. “Paul’s ceiling will be our floor, a launching pad for an exciting future,” the Chamber’s announcement stated. Voss’ leadership has left a lasting legacy, and the Chamber is prepared for the challenge of continuing his work.

Courtney Blaske will continue in her role as the Chamber’s Executive Assistant, providing essential support to the community and Chamber members. To ensure a smooth transition, the Board has appointed a volunteer Interim Director, who will serve during this time of change without impacting the Chamber’s budget.

Looking ahead, the Commerce Chamber of Commerce remains dedicated to advocating for its members, promoting local businesses, and organizing events that bring visitors and customers to the community. The Chamber is excited for the future and will honor Voss during the upcoming Annual Chamber Banquet on March 6, 2025, at the University Field House, beginning at 6 p.m.

The Chamber encourages community members to mark the date and join in celebrating Voss’ contributions to Commerce, Texas.
