Investigators from the Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force (NETXATTF) recently made multiple recoveries of stolen vehicles and property in Paris, Texas, with the assistance of the Paris Police Department, Lamar County Sheriff’s Office, and Fannin County Sheriff’s Office.
The operation began with reports of a stolen Ford Bronco from Oklahoma believed to be in the Paris area. Task Force investigators located the Bronco and arrested two individuals after a brief foot chase. Evidence collected during the investigation led to the recovery of stolen firearms and property, solving a vehicle theft and several vehicle burglaries in Paris.
In a separate incident, investigators responded to the Lamar County Tax Assessor’s Office after a suspect attempted to title a vehicle using a fraudulent title. The vehicle, a 2023 GMC Denali HD, was discovered to have been VIN-swapped and reported stolen out of Dallas. The individual in possession of the vehicle revealed they had purchased it through Facebook Marketplace for a significant cash sum. Authorities have urged the public to exercise caution when purchasing vehicles online, particularly when deals appear too good to be true.
Additionally, investigators recovered a stolen Miller Bobcat 2050 welder in Hunt County with the assistance of the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office. The welder, reported stolen out of Irving, was successfully returned to its rightful owner.
The NETXATTF continues to work closely with local law enforcement agencies to combat auto theft and related crimes in the region. Investigations into these cases are ongoing.
