On Saturday, January 11, 2025, the Paris Police Department received a report of a stolen credit card after a victim discovered his wallet was missing from the parking lot. The victim, who had initially thought the wallet was in his vehicle, soon began receiving fraud alerts as unknown suspects began using his credit cards.
Officers visited a local business where the stolen card had been used and obtained photographs of the suspects from the store's security camera system. The suspects were identified as 30-year-old Tyler Dean Poarch, 33-year-old Adam Jeffrey Hurst, and 28-year-old Jeremy Travis Poarch. Further investigation revealed the suspects had also used the stolen cards at the Choctaw Casino in Gran.
Paris Police notified the Choctaw Police and soon received a tip that the suspects had been seen entering the Paris Walmart. Officers located and detained the three suspects. During a search, officers recovered stolen property and additional evidence, including several types of illegal narcotics.
All three suspects were arrested and charged with Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of Oxycodone, and Possession of Methamphetamine. While in the back of the patrol unit, two suspects were observed concealing and taking Xanax pills, leading to charges of Tampering with Evidence. Additionally, Tyler Poarch and Adam Hurst were charged with Credit Card Abuse of the Elderly.
The suspects were booked without incident, and the investigation continues.
