A Beaumont man has been sentenced to 265 months (22 years) in federal prison for drug trafficking in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Damien M. Diggs.
Francisco Manuel Magdaleno, 41, was convicted at trial of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone delivered the sentence on January 7, 2025.
Court records show that between February 2019 and May 2022, Magdaleno conspired to traffic methamphetamine from Michoacán, Mexico, through Beaumont, Texas, and into other areas across the United States. The conspiracy involved more than 20 known co-conspirators connected to the Magdaleno drug trafficking organization.
Investigators determined that Magdaleno facilitated the acquisition of over 10,000 grams of methamphetamine for distribution throughout Texas, Louisiana, and Florida. Trial evidence also revealed that Magdaleno was a multi-kilogram distributor of cocaine.
The case was part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) program, which targets high-level drug traffickers and transnational criminal organizations.
The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Beaumont HIDTA Task Force, Beaumont Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety-CID, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, and Chambers County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jonathan Lee and Rachel Grove prosecuted the case.
