According to reports, a vehicle lost control, struck the guardrail and plunged into the frigid waters below the bridge. A courageous bystander stopped at the scene and rescued the driver from the submerging car.

The driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Dive teams were working to recover the vehicle from the water.

The accident has caused significant traffic disruptions, with only one lane open in each direction on US-380. Authorities urge drivers to exercise patience and caution while crews work to clear the scene.
