Jasper County Deputy Lesley Wade, 24, of Zavalla, tragically passed away following a two-vehicle crash in Angelina County on the morning of Friday, December 27, 2024. The accident occurred at approximately 9:00 a.m., and despite valiant efforts, Deputy Wade succumbed to her injuries.
Deputy Wade is survived by her husband, Jasper County Deputy Chris Wade, and their two children. She leaves behind both her immediate family and an extended family within the law enforcement community who mourn her loss deeply.
Deputy Wade served Jasper County with dedication and distinction, and her contributions will be forever remembered. Sheriff Mitchel Newman shared the somber news and expressed gratitude for her service, stating, "Her absence will be felt by all, and we will continue to surround her family with love and prayers as we navigate this tragedy."
