Princeton ISD is cooperating with the Princeton Police Department after an investigation into a possible child injury at Panther Cub Day Care. The investigation led to the arrest of a daycare worker, 26-year-old Savanna Marie Chron, who is no longer employed with the district.
On Friday, December 13, 2024, the Princeton Police Department was notified of a possible injury to a child that occurred at the daycare on a previous date. Detectives interviewed the child's mother and daycare staff. Video footage was requested from the school, and additional photographs and medical information were obtained from the parents. The footage was received on Monday, December 16, and led to the issuance of multiple arrest warrants for Chron.
Chron, who was arrested without incident on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, faces charges in connection with the alleged injury. She is charged with Invasive Visual Recording and two counts of Injury Child Reckless Bodily Injury. Her bond has been set at $75,000.
Princeton ISD acted swiftly after becoming aware of the incident, taking immediate steps to ensure the safety of the children moving forward. Administrators personally contacted the parents of children who may have had contact with Chron.
The district thanked the Princeton Police Department for its quick response and reaffirmed that the safety and security of its students remain a top priority.
The investigation is ongoing.
