On Thurdsday morning, December 12th, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at a residence in the 1200 block of East Chaffin Street in Sherman. As a result, 56-year-old Rex Lee Brown, Jr. of Sherman was arrested. Brown was taken into custody on charges of Possession of Child Pornography and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Brown's bond was set at $1,530,000.
This arrest follows a detailed investigation initiated from a case transferred to the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office by the Dallas Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. The ICAC task force is a nationwide initiative aimed at combating online child exploitation and identifying those who prey on vulnerable children.
The Sheriff’s Office believes that cases involving the exploitation of children are among the most serious and urgent matters to handle.
This case underscores the importance of collaboration between local, state, and federal partners in tracking down and prosecuting those involved in the exploitation of children.
