On Friday, December 6, 2024, at approximately 8:08 p.m., Sherman Patrol Officers responded to a report of an assault in the 1600 block of Lasalle Drive.
Upon arrival, officers learned that an adult male suspect, identified as 43-year-old Joshiah Joe Edgmon, had allegedly assaulted his 85-year-old grandmother by pushing her into the side of a bathtub. The victim sustained serious injuries, including a dislocated hip, and was treated on the scene by Sherman Fire Department personnel before being transported to a local hospital.
Medical staff later confirmed that the victim suffered multiple fractures resulting from the assault.
Following the incident, Edgmon fled the scene but was later located by officers and taken into custody. He has been charged with Aggravated Assault Causes Serious Bodily Injury. His bond has been set at $75,000.
