UT Tyler Professor Named 2024 Regent’s Awardee by American College of Healthcare Executives

Kerrie Anne Ambort-Clark, a distinguished teaching professor in management and assistant dean at The University of Texas at Tyler's Soules College of Business, has been named a 2024 Regent’s Awardee by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). Ambort-Clark, who serves as an elected board member of the East Texas ACHE Chapter, is the first two-time recipient of this prestigious recognition, having previously received the honor in 2022.

The ACHE Regent’s Awards recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing health care management excellence and furthering the goals of ACHE. Ambort-Clark’s leadership in healthcare management education at UT Tyler, her role in the development of interdisciplinary programs, and her dedication to student success have made her an influential figure in the field.

“She has been an outstanding board member, supporting many aspects of our chapter,” said Dawn Johnston, president of the ACHE Board of Directors and East Texas chapter member. “We are proud to recognize all of her exceptional contributions.”

Ambort-Clark has also provided leadership development for both academic and industry professionals, with leadership training modules that have been used in various settings. She was honored in a private ceremony earlier this month at the UT Tyler Health Science Center, where she was recognized alongside health care administrators and university colleagues.

In addition to her work at UT Tyler, Ambort-Clark’s contributions to the field have been recognized with multiple awards, including the 2018 UT System Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award and the 2024 UT System Academy of Distinguished Teachers Fellow distinction. She continues to inspire students and colleagues through her work in both academia and healthcare management.
