Kaufman County District Attorney Erleigh Norville Wiley announced the conviction of Michael Donell Glover, 64, for Aggravated Robbery, a first-degree felony offense. Following a grand jury indictment on April 8, 2022, a jury unanimously found Glover guilty on June 7, 2023.
Glover's extensive history of felony convictions subjected him to the stringent provisions of the Habitual Offender Statute. As a result, he faced a mandatory sentence of 25 to 99 years or life in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Division for the charge. Opting for the Judge to determine his punishment, the Honorable Casey Blair of the 86th District Court delivered a resounding message by sentencing Michael Glover to Life in the penitentiary. This decisive action demonstrates Kaufman County's firm stance against habitual offenders.
Leading the prosecution efforts were Assistant District Attorneys Sheri Shepherd and Leslie Odom, who worked diligently to present a compelling case. Their tireless dedication was complemented by the invaluable assistance of District Attorney Investigator Walter Hughey and Trial Paralegal Reyna Huerta. Expressing her commitment to justice, Erleigh Norville Wiley, the Criminal District Attorney of Kaufman County, stated, "We will not allow violent criminals to go unpunished in Kaufman County."
The successful outcome of this case would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of the Terrell Police Department. Officers Michael Anders and David Bridges played a crucial role in assisting with the prosecution, solidifying Kaufman County's stance against crimes of this nature. Their contributions send a clear message that such offenses will not be tolerated within the county.
