During the week of September 23, 2024, the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, in collaboration with the Mount Vernon Police Department and multiple federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, launched a two-day operation targeting individuals soliciting sexual acts with minors through online social media platforms.
The operation resulted in the arrest of five individuals, all charged with Online Solicitation of a Minor for Sexual Conduct, a 2nd Degree Felony. The suspects include:
- Vnay Chhum, 39, from Paris, TX
- Coyt Eugene Cameron, 29, from Omaha, TX
- Collin Bryce Cassels, 32, from Dallas, TX
- Jesus Moises Gonzalez, 42, from Fort Worth, TX
A fifth suspect, David Scott Oguin, 55, from Trinidad, TX, was apprehended by the Henderson County Sheriff's Office after engaging with an undercover persona as part of the operation.
Sheriff Jones expressed gratitude towards the Special Agents, investigators, and officers from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the FBI, Henderson County Sheriff's Office, Rains County Sheriff's Office, and the Mount Pleasant Police Department for their dedicated efforts, which were crucial to the success of the operation. He emphasized the serious dangers present in today’s digital environment and urged parents to remain vigilant about their children's online communications.
