On Sunday, September 15, 2024, at approximately 2:50 a.m., Mount Pleasant Police Officers responded to an armed robbery at the CEFCO Gas and Convenience Store located at 100 Alexander Road. Employees reported that an unknown male entered the store, using a rag to conceal what appeared to be a weapon, and demanded money before fleeing the scene on foot.
Mount Pleasant Police Department detectives identified the suspect as 45-year-old Luther Williams Jr. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and Williams was taken into custody in Cass County on September 18, 2024.
The investigation is ongoing.
