According to the victim, her boyfriend, identified as 40-year-old William Holcomb from Mt Vernon, had allegedly choked her and impeded her breath during the altercation. The officers promptly initiated a search for the suspect, who was located shortly after at a convenience store in Sulphur Springs.
A routine background check through dispatch revealed that Holcomb was wanted by the Midland County Sheriff's Office for Failure to Appear (FTA) on a theft charge involving property valued between $750 and $2,500. The specific details of the theft were not disclosed.
William Holcomb was subsequently apprehended by the Sulphur Springs Police and taken into custody. He was later booked into Hopkins County Jail, where he faces the following charges:
- Assault Family Violence, specifically Impeding Breath, classified as a felony of the third degree (F3).
