On Friday, August 9, 2024, the Mount Pleasant Police Department Narcotics Unit, in collaboration with the DEA Task Force and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service Office, completed an investigation into an individual involved in the distribution of illegal narcotics. The investigation led officers to a residence in Daingerfield, where they executed a search warrant with the assistance of the Daingerfield Police Department. During the search, law enforcement officers seized approximately 1,700 pressed counterfeit Xanax pills, fentanyl, cocaine, nine firearms, and currency obtained from narcotics sales.
The 28-year-old male suspect was arrested and booked into the Morris County Jail on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Endangering a Child. The Mount Pleasant Police Department thanked its law enforcement partners for their cooperation in the investigation.
