Driver Arrested in Mabank After Traffic Stop Reveals Large Quantity of Methamphetamine

On August 6, 2024, at approximately 4:57 PM, Deputy Melissa Harmon conducted a traffic stop on a tan minivan at the 700 Block of State Highway 198 in Mabank, Texas. The vehicle was driven by Michael Mark Grubbs.

K-9 Deputy Edwin Rodriguez, accompanied by K-9 Valco, was called to the scene. K-9 Valco performed an open-air sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive alert for narcotics.

Deputy Harmon proceeded to search the vehicle and discovered a magnetic box containing a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine, a scale, and baggies used for packaging and distributing narcotics. Additionally, a substantial amount of suspected marijuana was found in the magnetic box.

Grubbs was transported to the Henderson County Jail, where he was booked on charges of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. He is currently awaiting arraignment.
